Government — entry 021 of 90
Data.gov
api.data.gov is the shared API gateway the US federal government uses to front dozens of individual agency APIs — including NASA, the FEC, and USAspending — behind one signup and a single API key. It doesn't host data itself; it handles authentication, rate limiting, and monitoring for the underlying agency services, most of which respond in JSON. One free key, issued through a short signup form (or the shared `DEMO_KEY` for light testing), works across every participating API.
