Databricks
Databricks' REST API manages the full lakehouse platform — provisioning workspaces and clusters, running jobs and notebooks, querying SQL warehouses, and administering Unity Catalog permissions. Authentication is shifting from legacy personal access tokens toward OAuth (M2M for service principals, U2M for interactive users). Access is billed per Databricks Unit (DBU) consumed, with no ongoing free production tier — the old Community Edition was retired in January 2026 in favor of a limited, non-production Free Edition for learning.
