Holiday API (holidayapi.com) returns bank, public, and observance holiday data for over 200 countries with per-country workweek and language metadata, queried by year/country/month/day filters over a JSON REST endpoint. Its free tier is deliberately hobbled to historical dates only — the current and upcoming year require a paid subscription — which makes it a poor fit for anything beyond prototyping. Paid Countries and States & Provinces plans are billed annually and add current-year data plus longer retention.
