Mono
Mono is a Nigeria-based open banking platform giving businesses across Africa API access to a user's linked bank account data (balances, transactions, income, assets), identity/KYC lookups (BVN, business CAC registry), and direct-debit or one-time bank payments, authenticated with a secret key sent as a mono-sec-key header and returning JSON from api.withmono.com. Pricing is a one-time 30-day free trial capped at 5 account connections, after which the Basic plan runs NGN 50,000/month for up to 100 connections (custom Enterprise pricing beyond that) — there's no ongoing free tier. A live Origin-header probe against api.withmono.com confirmed CORS is enabled, returning Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * on both a GET request and an OPTIONS preflight.

Auth quickstart
- Sign up with the provider to get an API key.
- Send it on every request as a header
Authorization: <key> - The exact header isn't documented — Authorization is a common default; confirm in the provider's docs.
Your key is stored only in this browser (localStorage) and sent directly to the API — never to greatapis.
