Nutritionix
Nutritionix's natural-language endpoint parses free-text food descriptions (e.g. 'a bowl of oatmeal with a banana') into structured calorie and macro/micronutrient breakdowns, backed by a database of branded, restaurant, and common foods. Self-serve free trials have been discontinued — the signup page now states plainly that new API access goes through a sales-driven trial request evaluated by parent company Syndigo, with docs migrated off developer.nutritionix.com to Syndigo's docs portal. A live POST against trackapi.nutritionix.com/v2/natural/nutrients with no key returns 401 and Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *, resolving the stored 'unknown' cors to 'yes'.

Auth quickstart
- Sign up with the provider to get an API key.
- Send it on every request as a header
Authorization: <key> - The exact header isn't documented — Authorization is a common default; confirm in the provider's docs.
Your key is stored only in this browser (localStorage) and sent directly to the API — never to greatapis.
