Cloud Storage & File Sharing — entry 016 of 18
Storj
Storj DCS is a decentralized, S3-compatible object-storage network that shards and encrypts data across independently operated storage nodes worldwide. A live GET against the real edge gateway, gateway.storjshare.io, returned a 401 without a token, reconfirming API-key (access-grant) auth over HTTPS, and a follow-up OPTIONS preflight echoed the request Origin in Access-Control-Allow-Origin with Access-Control-Allow-Credentials: true, resolving cors from unknown to yes. The url was updated to storj.dev, which the old docs.storj.io/dcs/ path now permanently redirects to. Storj deprecated its free storage tier in 2024; billing is now fully usage-based with a $5/month account minimum, so pricingModel is set to metered rather than freemium.

Auth quickstart
- Sign up with the provider to get an API key.
- Send it on every request as a header
Authorization: <key> - The exact header isn't documented — Authorization is a common default; confirm in the provider's docs.
Your key is stored only in this browser (localStorage) and sent directly to the API — never to greatapis.
