Open Charge Map is a non-commercial, community-maintained registry of EV charging locations worldwide, queryable and editable through a free v3 REST API that now requires a key via the `X-API-Key` header or `key` parameter. Responses default to JSON but can also be returned as GeoJSON, XML, or CSV, and the same key covers write access for check-ins, comments, and photos.
